Scott A. McCaskill, CFP®
Certified Financial Planner™

Scott’s primary focus is on our Assets Under Management (AUM) program, and he is actively involved with client service, investment research and portfolio management. Scott earned his designations of "Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)" through the College of Financial Planning and "Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®)" through American College. His securities licenses include Series 24 (General Securities Principal), Series 31 (Futures Managed Funds Exam), 7 (General Securities Representative), 65 (Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam), and 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Exam) and insurance licenses in life, health and long-term care.

Scott is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC), Leadership Frederick County and is a Trustee for the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Frederick County Community Foundation, the Board of Advisors for the Mount St. Mary's School of Business and he Chairs the City of Frederick Investment Committee.

Scott has been quoted in the Frederick News Post, the CFP Board Consumer Newsletter, Smart Company Magazine, Frederick Magazine and was a key speaker at the CFP Board Financial Planning Conference in Washington DC. Scott has been recognized by Reuters, Bloomberg, the Daily Record and Frederick Magazine.

Scott was also very honored to be able to present on financial planning topics at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC and believes firmly in giving back to our community and supporting our society.

You can also listen to Scott weekdays at 4:08pm & 5:08pm on WFMD Radio 930AM for their “Closing Bell – Market Update”, where he summarizes the day's market activity and news, while also answering questions from listeners and local media. As well, he writes a monthly column for Frederick Magazine called "Ask The Expert", where readers can write in with financial planning and investment management questions.

Lisa Brandenburg
Director of Operations

Lisa brings over 20 years of financial experience and a talent for organization to McCaskill Financial, joining the team in July 2019. Her academic background includes two associate degrees and a Bachelor of Science degree, providing a strong foundation for her diverse responsibilities.

As Director of Operations, Lisa plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless client service. She oversees both financial advisory services support and general office operations, guaranteeing that every detail – from financial reports and transactions to client inquiries – receives her meticulous attention. This dedication to excellence helps ensure a smooth and secure experience for McCaskill's clients.

Beyond her operational expertise, Lisa fosters a supportive and collaborative environment within the team. Her dedication extends beyond the office, as she actively contributes to the community through volunteer work and fundraising initiatives, including her inspiring participation in the Susan G. Komen 60-mile walk for breast cancer research.

Administrative Assistant

Liz joined McCaskill Financial in April 2023, bringing nearly eight years of experience in client support and administrative excellence. Previously, she honed her skills at a self-directed IRA company in Frederick, consistently exceeding client expectations and earning a reputation for personalized solutions and meticulous attention to detail.

As a highly organized and dedicated individual, Liz excels in various areas, including administrative support, office management, and scheduling. Her commitment to efficiency and accuracy ensures a seamless experience for both colleagues and clients.

Outside of work, Liz prioritizes quality time with her family, cherishing the moments that create lasting memories. Her warm and welcoming nature extends beyond the office, making her a valuable asset to both the team and the community.

Brett Kraimer
401(k) Client Services

Brett joined the McCaskill Financial team in the summer of 2019, and now oversees their Retirement Plan division, helping small business, large corporations and non-profits through every stage of building, developing and maintaining a retirement plan for their employees and owners.

Brett brings over 20+ years of experience to the McCaskill Financial team, having built and grown his own TPA (third party administrator) company, to now handling everything from 401k's and 403b's to Simple IRAs and SEP IRA plans.

Brett and his wife Chris live in New Market, Maryland and enjoy being active in the Frederick Community.

Heidi Horine CERP
Client Experience Coordinator

Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the special event industry, Heidi joined McCaskill Financial as our Client Experience Coordinator in 2012. Heidi's focus is on the overall "client experience", assisting in the development and implementation of client events, networking activities and community involvement.

Heidi is a Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP) through the American Rental Association, a graduate of The George Washington University Event Management Certificate Program, and holds a business and economics degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is a member of the Women's Giving Circle, an organization dedicated to fundraising for women’s and children's causes in her local area as well as the Frederick Memorial Hospital's Order of the Good Samaritan.

When not assisting clients with fabulous events, she enjoys planning events of her own, traveling with her husband and being active in the Frederick Community.

Analyst

Sean joined McCaskill Financial in summer 2021 following his graduation from University of Maryland (Mathematics) and two previous summer internships with our team. He leverages his analytical background to research securities, assist in portfolio design, and support client relationships.

Sean brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the ever-evolving world of finance. He is a registered staff member, demonstrating his commitment to professional development and client success. Sean's long-term aspirations include pursuing a career as a financial analyst or portfolio manager.

Outside of work, Sean stays active through his passion for soccer and basketball. He is originally from Cumberland, Maryland, and currently resides in Frederick.

Director of Business Development

Troy joined the McCaskill Financial team in August 2022 and now is the Director of Business Development, focusing on Institutional clients.

Troy is a local professional born and raised in Frederick County who graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with his undergraduate degree in Finance and his MBA in Management. He brings over 25+ years of experience to the McCaskill Financial team. He has a proven record of delivering quality Trust and Investment guidance to his clients.

Troy and his wife Cathy and son Connor live in Woodsboro Maryland and are very active in the Frederick community.
